Born and raised in Pittsburgh, and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Coaching, Menachem (also known as “Brodie”), is renowned for his athletes & teams having strong work ethics, sound fundamentals, attention to detail, and for the results they achieve. Certified as a Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and as a USA Cycling Level 2 coach, Menachem has over 8 years of coaching experience, and over 10 years experience in the Fitness Industry
His teams and athletes have consistently placed high in local, national, and international competitions, including gold and bronze medals in international competition, as well as receiving awards and recognition for their training/work ethic and sportsmanship.
Menachem worked with the City of Pittsburgh as a Life guard from 2002-2004, teaching in the “learn to swim” program for all 3 seasons (2002, 2003, 2004). In 2006, he was the Aquatics Director for the Chatham Music and Arts day camp, where he re-structured the program to teach the campers (ages 4-15) to learn how to swim, or advance their swimming skills.
After working with the University of Pittsburgh’s Athletic Department for two stints; one as an intern in their Strength & Conditioning Department, and another as a Manager-Assistant Video Coordinator for the Men’s Basketball program, Menachem moved into working with individuals whom were post-physical therapy, and trying to return to an active lifestyle.
In 2008, after working in the Physical Therapy Setting for 2 years, Menachem decided to open Human Vortex Training, Pittsburgh’s first training studio dedicated to endurance athletes.
With his belief that balance comes by being well-rounded, Menachem likes to stay active & fit with a variety of sports and activities, including, but not limited to: Cycling, Yoga, Weight Training, Running, Swimming, and Basketball.
